Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Permit Pilot ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users of mypermitpilot.com. The Service is operated by Brenden Cannon, doing business as Permit Pilot.

2. Description of Service

Permit Pilot provides contractors with tools to track building permit statuses and receive daily permit leads sourced from publicly available data. The Service is currently in beta and is provided free of charge. Paid plans will be introduced in August 2026.

3. Beta Disclaimer

The Service is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice. We do not guarantee uptime, data accuracy, or continuity of any feature during the beta period. By using the Service during beta, you acknowledge that it may contain bugs or errors.

4. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 18 years old and a construction professional or contractor to use Permit Pilot. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Resell, redistribute, or scrape data from the Service without written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use lead contact information for spam, harassment, or unsolicited bulk communications.
  • Impersonate another user or misrepresent your identity.

6. Data Accuracy

Permit data is sourced from the City of Austin's open data portal and may lag 1–3 business days behind actual permit activity. Property data is sourced from the Travis Central Appraisal District (TCAD). We make no warranty that any data displayed in the Service is complete, accurate, or current. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before acting on it.

7. Lead Information

Lead contact information (names, phone numbers) is sourced from public permit filings. Permit Pilot does not guarantee the accuracy of this information or that any lead will result in a business opportunity. You are solely responsible for how you use lead contact information and for complying with applicable telemarketing and solicitation laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 305.

8. Intellectual Property

The Permit Pilot name, logo, and application code are owned by Brenden Cannon, doing business as Permit Pilot. Public permit and property data displayed in the Service remains the property of its respective public sources. You retain ownership of any notes or content you add to your account.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRENDEN CANNON D/B/A PERMIT PILOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be submitted to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, before either party may initiate litigation. Arbitration shall take place in Travis County, Texas. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at mypermitpilot@gmail.com.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes not resolved through arbitration shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
